SHREK 3 WITH ELBERTS KIDS

A large group of us went last friday to see shrek 3 with Elberts kids after dining at his home. It was a-lot of fun. I think Anna was driving the people behind us crazy by taking pictures in the theater :) I will admit I did miss watching this one with Cor - perhaps I'll try and get Mom and Dad to send it to him once it goes on to dvd.

MY FIRST STICK SHIFT DRIVING LESSON

This is me with Anna - driving a stick for the first time in my life ever. It was weird driving with my left foot (adjusting to the clutch)- but Anna was very patient with me. I hope to get a few more lessons in before I leave Rockville. So watch out fellow FPO peeps!

KELLY - AND ANOTHER AUDREY

I met Kelly back in January- we were in the same small group. These photos were taken at Panera Bread. We are checking our myspace/facebook - since this"luxary" is not currently offered at MLC. This has become a recent past-time :) We also frequent Target - when we need to get away and relax!

Spiritual Retreat

Today we began our first session at 8:00am. Elbert Smith spoke on discipleship and the truth/light of God's word. Around 11:00am we all went our separate ways...and we asked to have a time of personal spiritual retreat. We were not permitted to talk with our neighbor - but were asked to go and give Christ our undivided attention. (approx. 3 hrs)

Mr. Smith said for some of us that meant going to rest. So I quickly took his advice and put myself down for a nap - before diving into the word. I finally received some of the best rest since I've arrived. So mom you can stop worrying!

Anywho! Here's what he showed me: Isaiah 40:25-31 "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal? says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing...Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

HERE'S THE POINT: I am inadequate - He is adequate! He is my Creator and when I am tired and weary - He will give me strength now for this moment and later when I am serving in Uganda. How refreshing!

I'VE ARRIVED!

Ijust arrived at MLC in Rockville Virginia. It took only 3 hours to travel here. I have already found "my home" for the next 8 weeks. Not bad! I have a small kitchen, dinning area, my own room - and a bathroom I share with my neighbor. Guess what! Anna is my "neighbor" in the quad I am going to be living in. She is the girl I roomed with last time I was in Rockville. I am def. excited about that!!! She shouldn't arrive until tomorrow though:) But I have already seen a couple of familiar faces so that is good! I ate dinner with a family who is going to serve career in Asia. Their son was sweet - he told me that he went to see Spider Man 3 before coming. :) My sis was suppose to see that today! So anywho ! Tonight I will probably get settled in unpack, put a few sunkists in the fridge and Anna and I can enjoy later! I need to review my reading materials before starting class tomorrow at 8:30 am. Yippie!! :)

I almost forget - Most peeps have to choose a team to serve on - My name was already put down to serve in the Medical Department. So I get to give everybody their shots! Go figure! I am sure God will help give my the courage.
